Went out to the garden with some vague notion of cleaning up the beds to plant some garlic. But these guys were still working in the mustard and thistles so I just worked around all of them, poking garlic bulbs between the still growing and the still foraging.

I’ve been wearing this flannel of my late grandpa’s like a talisman for a few years now. I only just noticed the mended buttons. Almost certainly done by my grandma who recently passed too. I have childhood memories of her sitting in the living room in the evenings doing this tiny task while we sipped hot tea and watched tv.
